This section is about Projects ( Karteikästen), which were called "Cardfiles" in previous versions of VTrain. You can fill a Project with Decks of flash cards and "review" (i.e. memorize) them within the Project.

When I press Ctrl+Enter, VTrain does not check my answer. |

In VTrain 4.5, data were entered by pressing Ctrl+Enter. This applied to the Compose mode as
well as to the Review mode.
In VTrain 5.0,
the shortcut was changed to Enter. Now, linefeeds are entered by pressing Ctrl+Enter or Shift+Enter.
By the way, this setting can be reversed in VTrain 5.0 from the Tools menu. |

How do I remove a Deck of cards from a Project? |
Background information:
On the left of the VTrain window, you can see a Project ( Karteikästen) filled with Decks of cards ( Lektionen). But nothing is what it seems: the Decks are not really "filled"
into the Project, but only "linked" to it. That is, the "cards" you can see in the Project
are actually links to cards safely stored in some Deck.
To remove a Deck from a Project, you can do the following:
1. |
Exit VTrain. |
2. |
Rename that Deck from Windows Explorer. |
3. |
Start VTrain again. |
4. |
Open the Project again if necessary (File menu). |
5. |
When it loads the Project, VTrain will not find that Deck any more and
will delete all links to that Deck from the Project. This will be displayed visually in terms of cards disappearing
from the Project. |

We plan to add a Deck Navigator to the Project Panel.

How do I know which Decks of cards are linked to a Project? |
(Please see the question above for background information about Projects
and Decks.)
If you want to know if a specific Deck is linked to your card, you can note down the number of cards in the Project
(tip: make a screenshot), exit VTrain, rename that Deck from Windows Explorer and start VTrain again. Check the
number of cards in the Project has changed. Finally, exit VTrain without
saving changes and rename the Deck to its original name.

I get the error "Cannot activate an ActiveX object" |
This error message may pop up when trying to display a multimedia object,
such as a picture embedded on a card.
In order to maximize compatibility, VTrain uses OLE to render these objects. This means that the objects are entirely
controlled by your Windows operating system, so there is little we can do as programmers. However, you can try
and uncheck "Activate first OLE object
automatically" in Review menu -- Review Options -- Multimedia. |
