Links to external image files
Now you can link your cards with external files HTML-style, using relative paths, so you can use your files safely
on any computer.
Of course, this feature is not restricted to image files. For example, you can link your vocabulary list with a
grammar lesson in DOC, PDF or HTML format stored on your hard disk.
Background information:
In previous versions of VTrain, inserting an image on a card could be done only like in Microsoft Word, i.e. by
way of Microsoft's OLE (Object Linking and Embedding) technology. Unfortunately, OLE has several disadvantages.
On one hand, if you use OLE to embed a copy of the image into the document, this often blows up the size of the
document. On the other hand, if you use OLE to link to an external file, Windows will only accept the full path
to the external file -
and this is bound to lead to a broken link if you dare use your document on a different computer. |

Links to Internet websites
For example, you can create hyperlinks on your vocabulary cards to look up words in online dictionaries. |

Links between cards
You can use hyperlinks to create cross-references, mind maps and tables of contents in your documents. Hypertexts are an invaluable aid to the recognition of complex
relationships. Rote learning is history. Take your learning to a new level with VTrain's hypertext flashcards! |

Link-all feature
Switch this option on to display any word as a link, so you can look it up in your favorite online dictionary or
search for it in your decks of flashcards. |

Import/Export to Excel and Word
VTrain can exchange files with Excel and Word. See the instructions in our FAQ. It's true, though, that
Excel and Word do not handle line breaks properly during the procedure. This problem is fixed by this new feature. |

Flashcards with more than 2 sides
Good old 2-sided flashcards are very efficient for learning fragmented information, but sometimes you need to see
the big picture. We are working on a new method for the input of complex data systems, like the conjugation of
a French verb or the diverse representations of the same Chinese word. |

Text-to-speech facility
When this option is on, VTrain speaks the words aloud. This feature spares you having to record the pronunciation
of foreign words and guarantees a certain level of quality. |
